Conference Description
The purpose of this conference is to provide updates in a variety of topics relevant to physicians in a general practice.
Target Audience
The conference is designed for physicians, osteopaths, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Conference Objectives
Today’s patient sees an average of 5 -7 different physicians annually. To achieve the highest levels of quality in healthcare, medical professionals must work collaboratively. This cross disciplinary learning experience will enable providers to formulate stronger local professional relationships, resulting in the generation of new ideas and competencies (a fusion of new ideas and skills).
- Define new procedures and technology in the field of interventional radiology;
- Describe initial care and special considerations of the injured child;
- Discuss some of the nonsurgical options to treat the aging face;
- Describe and explain 1) Diabetic/Neuropathic foot ulcerations 2) Charcot Joint Disease 3) Osteomyelitis/Paronychia foot pathologies in the diabetic patient;
- Review general usage of diagnostic tests as well as common therapies, to include physical therapy techniques, different types of spinal injections, minimally invasive procedures, and standard approaches;
- Explain health information exchange (HIE) portion of meaningful use requirements and the value equation for your practice in participating in HIE;
- Discuss the role of EUS in diagnosis and staging of malignancy and in evaluation of benign disease;
- Explain the features and benefits of a patient centered medical home;
- Describe the challenges and opportunities in the treatment of Gout;
- Discuss the latest thoughts for diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer;
- Identify ideas that address creating tax free income in retirement, asset protection and generating income pre-retirement;
- Describe how to access reliable information sources when presented with a medical inquiry;
- Review the Normal Physiological changes expected with aging, link the changes with aging to common problems and presentation in the elderly patient and review interventions that can enhance patient care and avoid problems related to the normal aging process.
