Started over 20 years ago, the Bald Head Medical Meeting is a wonderful way to relax, learn, and play while earning Category I Continuing Medical Education credits.

Conference Description
The purpose of this conference is to provide updates in a variety of topics relevant to physicians in a general practice.

Target Audience
The conference is designed for physicians, osteopaths, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Conference Objectives

Today’s patient sees an average of 5 -7 different physicians annually. To achieve the highest levels of quality in healthcare, medical professionals must work collaboratively. This cross disciplinary learning experience will enable providers to formulate stronger local professional relationships, resulting in the generation of new ideas and competencies (a fusion of new ideas and skills).

• Identify NEW findings relevant to the care of women in 2011;
• Review the most common sports related shoulder injuries and explain treatment options;
• Assess the outlook on economics and investing;
• Explain Point of Care products and how to find evidenced based medical information;
• Discuss the new technologies in radiation oncology and how they have resulted in improved accuracies for the targeting of radiation;
• Describe alternative, natural and behavioral treatments for ADHD;
• Describe the symptoms, causes, risks, complications, treatment and prevention of MRSA;
• Employ Palliative Care to prolong life and reduce suffering, to reduce Medicaid patients hospital cost, and how to identify patients in need palliative care;
• Review the epidemiology of COPD and emphasize the enormous health care related costs associated with complications of this preventable disease;
• Review and discuss updates of laser based cataract surgery;
• Review of the history of the PCMH model and how to prepare your practice to become a PCMH;
• Optimize practice collections by developing a plan to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) on a consistent basis.
